How does Bleokey work?

Bleomycin breaks DNA strands - Inhibits DNA replication- Induces apoptosis (cell death).

General side-effects

Fever, chills, vomiting, anorexia, malaise, and weight loss are common and may persist long after the termination of this medication.

Stability:

Bleokey lyophilized powder is stable when stored at 2° C (36º F) to 8° C (46º F).

The reconstituted solution of bleomycin in NACL is stable for 24 hours at room temperature.

Bleokey should not be reconstituted with D5W or other dextrose-containing diluents.

Potential Toxicities:

Pulmonary toxicity: Pulmonary Fibrosis is the most severe toxicity caused by bleomycin injection.

Precautions:

Patients with renal insufficiency

Pregnant/breastfeeding mothers
