Ribasure 200mg (Ribavirin)

Molecular Salt: Ribavirin

Patients with a compensated liver disease face a lot of problems when they are diagnosed with Hepatitis C viral (HCV) infection. In this regard, Ribasure 200 mg (Ribavirin) is a potent option due to its sustainable anti-HCV properties. Ribasure (Ribavirin) is also recommended in HCV patients with HIV-1 co-infection.

For overall care of the patients, Ribasure 200 mg is recommended along with peginterferon alfa. Their combination has shown to achieve a 70% response against HCV patients with genotype 2, 3 and 4 whereas 44% in genotype 1 patients. Ribavirin acts by hindering the process of multiplication (RNA/DNA replication) in HCV cells. However, the exact mechanism of action is not fully understood yet.

Ribasure 200mg (Ribavirin) is taken in the form of oral dosage. It is to be taken with food two times a day – in morning and in evening. The medicine is to be taken for about six months to a year. It is advised to take Ribasure 200 mg (Ribavirin) around the same time each day. One should follow the directions on prescription label carefully and seek doctor’s or pharmacist’s advice to understand any aspect of taking this medicine, that is not clear.

Ribasure 200mg (Ribavirin) is used along with other antiviral medicines such as interferon, sofosbuvir for treatment of chronic Hepatitis-C (liver viral infection). Hepatitis-C infection can cause serious liver problems like scarring (cirrhosis) or even liver cancer.
